Bryan N. Miller Photography bio picture

Hi, my name is Bryan

We all have a story to tell. I meet and get to know quite a few couples at a very important time in their lives and each story I hear is completely amazing. The stories about how you met, how you fell in love and when you realized 'this is the one.'

Your children will look through your wedding album and learn about the history of your love...your grandchildren will do the same and that's why these stories are so important to tell because these are the stories we build our lives around.

This is what I love...telling stories.

And how do we do that? It's about spending time together. Chatting, learning about why you're together and what makes you tick as a couple.

And on your wedding day I'm there with you, as a storyteller documenting with my eyes and heart.  I don't get noticed much, people are relaxed around me because I'm calm and collected. Always. And as the story unfolds before us, I capture and build, moment-by-moment, frame-by-frame, each tear and smile, until the last moment has passed.

And when we get together, let's not talk about
camear gear. Let's not talk about tossing a  bouquet or garter...instead, let's chat about
why you're engaged, what you see in the person
you're marrying...tell me the vision for wedding
and how I can be a part making that vision a reality.

What do you say? Send me an email and let's get the
conversation started.

The New Studio – We had a party

The new studio has been a lot of work and a steep learning curve but it’s been an amazing experience. To celebrate, we held a little party and in case you didn’t get to join us, here are a few images and quick video recap. We couldn’t have done it without the help of these...

Adventure on the horizon

A few months back my girlfriend, Anna, and I were chatting about our goals and all the things we wanted to do both individually and together. The conversation started to move toward traveling and how much we both enjoy it and want to do more of it together. Then one of her bucket list items...

Chicago – On the Street

Earlier this month I flew to Chicago for a few days to visit my brother, eat great food and enjoy some near freezing weather.  I was suppose to shoot an engagement session in the city but due to a work related emergency my couple couldn’t make it.  I was bummed but we’ll shoot that session...

No, thank you!

Back in March I had the privilege to speak to an incredibly smart bunch of students at High Tech High about photojournalism.  They were then given assignments and worked on putting together a portfolio.  This past week I was invited back to view those portfolios and critique them. I was very impressed by what I...

Spending some downtime

As a kid I was always outdoors.  If I wasn’t 10 feet high in a tree with a comic book there was a problem and I wasn’t content with life.  Drinking from the hose, running till I had no energy left but refusing to come home…and annoyed at the setting sun and being forced indoors...

*sigh

I’m back home now and rummaging through all the images from Maui. What a great time and the island has such incredible scenery.  We’re pretty spoiled in San Diego, but the forest, waterfalls and coastlines of Hawaii are fascinating. And I had such an amazing time shooting at the Olowalu Plantation House with Melissa.  The...

Fall Inspiration – San Diego Wedding Photography

My new friend and amazing florist Paula Rae and I wanted to create something together.  The more we chat, the more we have in common.  I’m inspired by her work…as you will see, it’s amazing.  And I believe my passion for creating images inspires her.  In one of our first conversations she mentioned her love...

Watch out…

Watch out for the Killer Bunnies. I received this warning in the mail yesterday from my nephew.  Thanks for the warning, G!  I’ll be sure to keep an eye out. Photography sets me free… Share Tweet

thoughts…

To photograph is to hold one’s breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It’s at that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy. HCB Tweet

thoughts…

To take photographs means to recognize – simultaneously and within a fraction of a second – both the fact itself and the rigorous organization of visually perceived forms that give it meaning. It is putting one’s head, one’s eye and one’s heart on the same axis. HCB Tweet
