Last year I was in LA for a networking event and bumped into Karina and Krystel of Couture Events. We’ve known and worked together for the past few years so it was nice running into them. We chatted and hung out for a while and Karina mentioned she was about to head off on a weekend/birthday trip with her boyfriend. Just to get away and celebrate a birthday and they were headed to wine country. I didn’t say anything at the time, I thought I was reading too much into the whole story, but the first thought that passed through my head was…hmmm, this sounds like a potential engagement trip.
A few days later I heard the news..James had proposed.
I was super happy for Karina. She’s by far one of the kindest, most supportive people I’ve met in this industry. Fast forward a few months, I received a text from Krystel saying Karina wanted me to be her photographer.
I had to read that text twice. I really couldn’t believe it. She could have anyone in the industry photograph her day and she was asking me? Needless to say I was thrilled and excited to be with her as her photographer. We were able to create a beautiful story for Karina and James…and most importantly they were relaxed, present and completely enjoyed their wedding day.
Her wedding was held on her great grandfather’s ranch. A place that was special before and holds even more meaning now.
